Dagenham & Redbridge go into Saturday’s game at Victoria Road against high flyers Harrogate Town in search of just their second home win of the season.

Cup Misery

The East Londoners were then sent crashing out of the FA Cup on Tuesday night following a 3-2 aggregate loss to Boreham Wood in the fourth qualifying round.

After a 2-2 draw in the first leg at Meadow Park, the Daggers were hopeful they could progress on home turf and reach the first round. Unfortunately, Wood defender Manny Parry’s goal just before half time was enough to sink the home team.

League Form

The Daggers’ poor run of form in the league continued last weekend with a 2-1 loss at the hands of second placed Wrexham, their 11th of the season, stretching their run of league games without a point to five.

The gap in form between the teams is substantial with Harrogate finding themselves in fifth place and just one point off of league leaders Salford City. The Town have only lost one of their 16 league games so far this season.

However, they were also knocked out of the FA Cup on Tuesday night, losing out to promotion rivals Wrexham following a 2-0 at the Racecourse Ground.  They will be desperate to bounce back and stretch their unbeaten streak in the league to five games.

Best Attack, Nervy Defence

No team has scored more league goals than Town so far this campaign and whilst they will be without striker Dom Knowles, who is recovering from a toe injury, Dagenham will want to keep star striker Jack Muldoon under wraps in this weekend’s clash. The forward has netted six times so far this campaign and will look to take advantage of the home team’s poor form and add to his tally.

The Daggers on the other hand have struggled to keep the goals out, conceding a total of 24 goals this season. The East Londoners have also only kept a lowly three clean sheets so far and manager Peter Taylor will hope to stop the rot this weekend.

New Blood

The Daggers completed three new signings this week with defenders Emmanuel Onariase and Nathan Smith on-loan from Rotherham and Yeovil respectively, along with winger Angelo Balanta joining permanently from Boreham Wood for an undisclosed fee.

Onarise and Balanta are expected to be in the squad this Saturday although Smith may not yet be fully fit.

Dagenham will be determined to set their league record straight during this weekend’s encounter with Harrogate.
