East London Teacher Calls For Students To Get Together Over The Vaccine

Ed Stubbs

A Bethnal Green Teacher’s initiative has won the support of the Stephen Hawking Foundation.

The Foundation’s mission statement is to “promote critical thinking, ask big questions and provide reliable, well sourced information to help school-age students investigate complex issues regarding science and society.”

The “big question” in this case is, “Is the Vaccine safe?” So to help school-age students find out, the Foundation has published a teaching resource developed by Ed Stubbs of the Morpeth Secondary school in Bethnal Green.

In the film below Rising East’s Lloyd Bailey asks where the idea came from and what’s next.

The learning resource can be hound here. It consists of 40 PowerPoint slides. The first couple of slides focus on the conspiracy theories that have led some people to reject the vaccine. Questions such as “Why Are Vaccines Useful?” are answered with the help of bullet points, and photos are included to add impact and meaning. The resource also includes useful stats and diagrams.
