West Ham made light of Norwich on Sunday in their latest premier league clash as goals from Said Benhrahma, Manuel Lanzini and Michael Antonio secured a comfortable victory against the already relegated side.

Oliver Cottis, a lifelong follower of West Ham United, was at Carrow Road for the game on Sunday and described the travelling supporters as “unbelievable”.

“Even after such a heart-breaking loss to Frankfurt last Thursday, our supporters were in fine voice and the atmosphere in the away end was really positive”, Oliver said.

“Rice Is A Joy To Watch”

He also spoke about the individual performances of both Declan Rice and Jarrod Bowen: “Rice is a joy to watch, and the Norwich players couldn’t get near him”, he explained. “Bowen was his usual unstoppable self and even though he didn’t get on the scoresheet, for any player to get 3 assists in a game is just incredible”.

Irons supporter Finlay Jackson gave his thoughts following the match: “People will tell West Ham fans not to get ahead of ourselves as the win did come against Norwich who are already relegated, but I think we can still take a lot of confidence from our performance”.

Reflecting on Said Benrahmas’s individual performance, Finlay commented: “I thought Benrahma was amazing and that he took both of his goals brilliantly, however, I thought it was a shame that he was not allowed to take the penalty for the 4th goal, as I’d have loved to have seen him get his first hat-trick in a West Ham shirt”.

Although he thought the Algerian international should have been given the chance to score his first premier league hattrick, he admitted: “I was chuffed for Manuel Lanzini as he converted the penalty, and I was really happy for Michail Antonio as he finally scored his first goal since January”.

Regarding the final 2 league fixtures, Finlay stated: “I’m confident going into the last 2 matches of the season with the players we have in the squad, and I know the boys will work hard to get something out of both games”.

“I Was Utterly Heartbroken”

Hammers fan James Rowley admitted he was surprised that his team put in such a strong performance at Norwich following the defeat at Frankfurt. “After the tie against Frankfurt, I cried my eyes out; I was utterly heartbroken”, he said. “I can imagine the boys would have been gutted as well and were probably exhausted before the Norwich trip after the last few weeks, so to see us play the way we did on Sunday made me really proud of the lads”.

James then spoke about his hopes for next season and his thoughts on the remaining league games: “To compete in Europe again next season would be some achievement, but to poach 6th place from Manchester United would be fantastic.

“The next two games are tough, but with the quality and belief in the squad, I definitely think we have a chance”, he concluded.

Next up, West Ham face a home tie against league leaders Manchester City this Sunday, followed by a difficult away journey to Brighton on the last day of the season. Hammers manager David Moyes will be hoping his side can get a result in both games in their battle for a European spot, be it for the Europa Conference League or the Europa League
