British and Commonwealth Super Bantamweight champion Brad Foster defends his titles in a rematch against Lucien Reid at York Hall on Saturday.

The pair battled to a controversial majority decision draw at the same venue back in September. Judge Ian John Lewis scored the bout 116-112 in Reid’s favour, with Terry O’Connor and Bob Williams scoring the contest level.

Deep cuts for both men ensured the first fight between the undefeated duo was a scrappy affair, and fans will be hoping for a more entertaining contest on Saturday.

Foster will be hoping to continue the form of he showed in 2019 which saw him shock Josh Wale in March to claim the coveted Lonsdale belt before adding the commonwealth strap in May after a dominant display against Ashley Lane at the Lamex Stadium in Stevenage.

It was a more frustrating year for West Ham-based Lucien Reid, who took his first blemish on his record in March after a nasty cut resulted in a technical draw against Indi Sangha. Six months later came the draw with Foster.

Elsewhere on the card, undefeated Welsh prospect Kody Davies takes on fellow Queensbury stablemate Umar Sadiq. Sadiq has strung a number of wins together since his loss to Zak Chelli back in 2018.

Britain’s Best Prospect?

19 year old Dennis ‘The Menace’ McCann also returns to action for the first time in the new year, taking on Pablo Narvaez. McCann has shone so far in his career, even receiving comparisons to the great Naseem Hamed.

Ryan Garner returns to the squared circle after 14 months out of action. Garner was scheduled to fight back in May of last year but a horrible weight cut resulted in the featherweight taking an extended break from the sport.
