Ware attended Rockdale County high school in Conyers, Georgia before moving to Louisville college in 2011. The 27 year old then went to Georgia state college in 2014 to further his education.

Standing at 6ft 5, Ware is a shooting guard who currently plays for London Lions in the British Basketball league.

Ware debuted in 2017 for Kauhajoen Karhu in Finland and is anything but a one club man having also featured for the likes of Brno, in Czech republic, Faros Larissas in Greece and London lightning just to name a few.

He is relishing the opportunity to play at the Copperbox Arena:

His resilience is innate , whether it was battling amongst the NBA players on his team or through the dice that was rolled for him, his demeanour, energy and charisma is catching.

Statistics

Kevin Ware played 10 games in the 19/20 season where he averaged 13.1 points per game. He shot 41.7% from the field.

Ware averaged 6.1 rebounds aswell as 0.7 blocks per game.

Two seasons ago his assists were 2.9 per game. He also averaged 11.1 points , 0.4 blocks and 5.2 rebounds per game.

Personal Records That He Broke

  • February 2nd 2017 Kevin Ware set his career high 33 points in a Czech Republic – Mattoni NBL Down game. On that occasion he also had 14 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals. He shot 8/11 from two, 2/5 from three, shooting at 62.5% from the field. He also shot 11/13 from the free-throw line. He accomplished a career high efficiency of 42 percent in that game.
  • On February 2nd 2019, Kevin Ware set his equalled his career high in assists in a Canada-NBL game. That day he dished out 9 assists in a 132-109 win.
  • On March 3rd 2017, Kevin Ware tied his career high in steals in a Czech Republic- Mattoni NBL Down game. That day he recorded 5 steals as well as 26 points, 11 rebounds, and 1 assist.
  • On December 12th 2016, Kevin Ware set his career high in blocks in Czech Republic – Mattoni NBL game. That day he went for 3 blocks in addition to his 25 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Leg break

On March 31st 2013 Kevin Ware suffered a gruesome leg injury. In the first half of an elite eight game against Duke, Ware landed awkwardly on his right leg after attempting to block a shot  causing an open fracture which protruded several inches out of his shin.

Both players and coaches were distraught looking at the injury from the bench. Kevin Ware showed Mental strength with the way he responded by saying “I’m fine, just win the game.”

He was sent courtside for a few minutes before being put on a stretcher and taken to the hospital. He required a 2 hour surgery and thankfully for him Louisville won that encounter 85-63 .

Fellow teammate, Chane Behanan, dedicated it for him and even went as far as wearing his jersey when he went courtside.

Many NBA players in the aftermath voiced their concern with Ware’s injury through social media (in this instance twitter) including Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant.

Former NFC quarterback, Joe Theismann and the Louisville Cardinals former running back Michael Bush, who both have experienced the same pain also showed their support for him.

2013-14 Comeback

Ware returned to competitive basketball for an exhibition game against University Pikeville.

He received an amazing reception when he entered the game and another standing ovation when he made his first shot, ending the game with 6 points and 4 rebounds.
