Liggins attended Findlay Prep High School in Henderson,Nevada. He started his career in 2011 at Orlando Magic and is somewhat of a journeyman having played for the likes of Oklahoma Thunder, Oklahoma,Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland,Dallas Mavericks, Dallas and Milwawkee Bucks.

According to sources, Lions head coach, Vince Macaulay had this to say about the Kentucky Wildcat graduate:

“This is a great opportunity for us all in British basketball, Deandre is an unbelievable hard worker, we wanted someone that would nullify the highest of European talent and we think we have him.

“His experience, his team ethos will no doubt spread into our team, and I’m sure all our fans will take him to their hearts,” said Macaulay.

In his forthcoming season with the London Lions, Liggins had this to say about the BBL and Basketball champions league: “I am very excited to join such a winning and upcoming organisations.

“My competitive edge and winning mentality will certainly be effective immediately within the team.

“I’m excited and can’t wait,” said Liggins.

Strengths

Liggins is versatile, long and lean he can guard all 3 positions on the perimeter. His size and athleticism combined with solid lateral quickness makes him a potential lockdown.

Last season he played for Sionx Skyforce where he averaged 10.8 points per game  ,5.7 assists per game, shooting 0.42% from the field. Defensively he averaged 0.5 blocks and 4.4 rebounds.

In the 17-18 for Milwawkee Bucks he played 27 games were he posted an average of 1.6 points per game.

Shooting 43.9% from the field, Liggins has impressed more with the defensive side to his game, averaging 1.4 rebounds per game as well as 2 blocks per game. His assists per game have decreased since the 17-18 season from 8 to 5.7.

Over his career he has averaged:

2 points per game, 1.4 rebounds per game and 0.7 assists per game.

Liggins will be looking to bring his experience on the court ahead of the Lions season ahead.
