What makes this event so unique is that it has open status, meaning that the event welcomes entries from development teams to local clubs and also international federations whilst all competing on an even keel.

The seven-hour program hosts more than 100 riders and also features two sprint and three endurance championships, with prices and trophies handed out for the winners.

The event also includes mixed sprint and men’s & women’s endurance whilst qualifying for the sprints in only the men’s endurance.

Activities

Further to the event there will be a number of activities going on during the day such as children’s balance bike and pump track sessions and cycling workshops.

Full Gas Cycling, along with Vibrant partners and the Lee Valley Velodrome introduced a new structure of good Friday racing in 2018.

There are no contracts offered and no reserved places, regardless of who the rider is.

The result of such an attractive prize list is that you will, once again, see world famous stars competing on Good Friday.

The Conclusion

The racing will conclude with the Monty Young Golden Wheel Race, which is a 20k scratch race. This type of race was once one of the most lucrative races in the event programme.

The winner of the race will collect a Breitling watch as the prize.

Condor have introduced a new trophy for the blue riband race as a celebration of the brand’s founder, who passed away last summer.

The day will be split into two parts with sprint and men’s endurance qualifying heats in session one and all finals in session two.

Doors open at 12:30pm and racing begins at 1pm.
