With a brilliant start to the new season the young Irons look set to extend their three-game winning streak to five if they beat the in-form Manchester United U-23’s side.

Revenge on the cards

Following their meetings last season, this game is set to be a huge clash with the Irons doing the double over them in league competition last year.

The Red Devils will be looking for revenge after they lost in stoppage time from a Ademipo Odubeko goal in the 93rd minute giving the Hammers the win.

With their current form, will the Reds reign supreme?

In their 3-0 win over Blackburn last Saturday, Anthony Elanga continued his prolific goal-scoring record with another goal as he smashed a powerful shot into the top right corner to finish off the job.

Fresh New Blood

Halajko’s men will be looking to challenge for the league after their disappointing showing last season, finishing 11th.

Tthey’ve started this season incredibly well, currently sitting in second place in the league on 16 points after eight games, after seeing many of their star players from last season get sent on loan to develop their first-team football.

The Hammers have a fresh new squad for this season allowing many youngsters to make their debuts this season like William Greenidge, Freddie Potts and Armstrong Okoflex who has been brilliant up top for the young Hammers.

It’s going to be an exciting season with a lot of these talented players gracing the pitch, which midfielder Freddie Potts expressed in an interview with whu.fc.com. “We’ve got a really good squad, really good players in every position with really good depth, which is great for the team.”

He continued, “It’s going to push us forwards as players because we need that competition amongst ourselves, and that’ll be really good for our development, which will show this season.”

Okoflex on Fire

Armstrong Okoflex will be looking to continue his goalscoring form, being the team’s top goalscorer with four goals scored in seven appearances this season. The 19-year-old Irishman is enjoying his debut campaign after signing for the Hammers last June from Celtic.

The versatile winger is looking to set strides within this league to help the Irons secure a good spot in the league. His goal-scoring tendencies will be a great threat against the Manchester United defence on Saturday afternoon.

The Hammers will meet face-to-face with the Red Devils on Saturday at 3 pm at the Rush Green Stadium.
