West Ham is set to face a tough midweek fixture on Wednesday as they travel to Anfield to face Liverpool.

Hammers Looking to Extending their Unbeaten Run

The Hammers currently sit 12th in the table, unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions. They are coming off a 1-1 draw against Southampton, with captain Declan Rice scoring his first goal of the season.

Improvement from Liverpool

Liverpool have got off to a slow start this season, already trailing league leaders Arsenal by 14 points and only having two more points than West Ham. Despite this, they’re coming off a 7-1 thrashing against Rangers in the Champions League last Wednesday, before beating Manchester City 1-0 four days later.

Moyes Praises Liverpool

West ham have only won once at Anfield since 1963. In his pre-match press conference, manager David Moyes said “Liverpool is as hard a place to go in the world to go and win a football game.

“I think everybody is quite aware they will be close to the top end of the league. They are a top team.”

Team News

Moyes said he’s still unsure whether Kurt Zouma or Craig Dawson will be available for Wednesday, after not featuring against Southampton.

Nayef Aguard returned to first team training this week, but himself and Maxwell Cornet remain side-lined from playing.

Liverpool could be without seven players for Wednesday’s clash, including attackers Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota, and defenders Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konate.
