Last time out, the Urchins fought to secure a crucial 2-1 away league win at Bognor Regis. The highlight of the game was minutes before half-time, when captain Lewwis Spence somehow found the net from the halfway line, a goal which manager Mark Stimson described as “one of the best goals I’ve ever seen” in his post-match interview with the Romford Recorder.

Hornchurch sit 12th in the Isthmian Premier table and Stimson will be hoping his side can secure all three points from this encounter and climb up the league table. The Urchins have lost two out of their last three league games. Kingstonian last played in the league two weekends ago, with a 2-1 home win against Cray Wanderers. The K’s sit seventh in the table just a point-off the playoff places.

After his return against Bognor Regis last time out, Ricky Hayles looks set to start for the Urchins on Saturday. Hayles was sorely missed as a result of a three-game suspension, but before this absence, the defender was a rock at the back for Stimson’s side, making 15 appearances for the Urchins this season. Midfielder Ronnie Winn also returned against Bognor Regis after a spell out injured and will likely feature on Saturday.

Two Goalscorers on Double Digits

Sam Higgins and Liam Nash have notched 20 goals between them so far this season. Despite only featuring 11 times this season, Higgins has 10 goals to his name. However, he hasn’t featured for the Urchins since the end of September so it may be unlikely that the 32-year-old will feature in Saturday’s lineup.

Nash has also scored 10 goals this season, last finding the net in a 3-0 home win against Haringey Borough at the start of November and he has also added nine assists to his impressive goal tally, the most for any Hornchurch player this season. Hornchurch fans can be confident that their side will find the back of the net on Saturday.
