The East London Arena will host a tournament which will include eight fighters who battle it out on the same night with only one of them standing at the end.
The concept was a big hit earlier in the year at the Manchester Arena and promises to be bigger and better for season two.
The event will take place on November 2nd at Indigo at the O2 Arena and will be attended by boxing greats such as Ricky Hatton and Paulie Malignaggi.
Taking Part
The fighters that will participate are Joel McIntyre (17-2) who holds the English Light Heavyweight belt, John McCallum (11-1), Shakan Pitters (7-0), Dec Spelman (12-1), Jordan Joseph (7-2-1), Darrell Church (7-2-1), Sam Smith (5-1) and Sam Horsfall (2-0).
The eight men will compete in three, three minute rounds with the eventual winner pocketing £50,000 and the chance to wear the coveted Golden Robe.
Elsewhere on the card, star of the hit Show Love Island Idris Virgo (2-0) makes his return to the squared circle in a four-round contest against an as of yet unnamed opponent.
Promising Concept
Founder of the event, Benjamin Shalom told the Ultimate Boxxer website.
‘The first show has attracted more and more quality fighters which made our decision for places very difficult.
We think we’ve chosen a card perfect for the London crowd. It has everything and it’s impossible to call who will come out on top.’
Under The Bright Lights
Paulie Malignaggi, a non-executive director at Ultimate Boxxer focused on the spotlight that is put on the competitors.
“I love what this brand can do for the sport and the opportunity it can give to talented fighters. The first show blew my mind and the card looks even better for this one.”
The positive effects of the show are clear to see, with first season winner Drew Brown being transformed from a fairly unknown young fighter to a bright prospect worth keeping an eye on.
Coverage of the event will begin live on UNILAD’s Facebook page at 20:15 before transferring to Channel 5 Spike from 22:00.
