Sadiq Khan’ Young Londoners’ Fund will fund over 1000 activities for young people over half term, especially in areas most affected by violent crime.

The seven boroughs which benefit from the programme include Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Lewisham.

In Hackney a project named StreetDoctors offers youngsters the chance to learn, share and eventually teach emergency lifesaving skills. And in Hoxton Hall professional dancers will host street dance sessions.

Projects in Tower Hamlets include Bounce Cinema which offers advice on how to break into the film industry, and Vinspired, through which young people are taught to cook healthy three course meals which are then shared with the community.

Meanwhile, in Lewisham, young people will find a graffiti board and DJ workshops at the Richard MacVicar Adventure Playground, and over at The Albany there are workshops in acrobatics, circus and breakdancing.

Details of all the projects can be found on an interactive map available through the Mayor’s office: www.london.gov.uk/our-london.
