Millwall travel to Reading this Saturday at the Madejski Stadium (3pm K.O).

It is an important game for both clubs, who see themselves sitting 15th and 21st respectively.

On A High Note

The Lions come into this game on a high after sealing a comfortable 2-0 victory over Stoke City at The Den on Saturday afternoon to ensure that Gary Rowett had the perfect start to his Millwall career.

The Royals on the other hand, had their Sky Bet Championship clash against Nottingham Forrest on Saturday afternoon abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch.

As a result of this, it led them to slip further down the table into 21st place after Huddersfield’s 2-1 win over Barnsley, so Reading will be desperate to get the 3 points in front of their home supporters and stay clear of the relegation zone.

Injured Royals

Reading trio, Lucas Joao, Lucas Boye and Yakou Meite all remain sidelined as they are all out with a hamstring, groin and ankle injuries respectively.

Gary Rowett looks to have a fully fit squad available to him ahead of his second game in charge of the Lions.

Mahlon on board with Rowett

Millwall right back, Mahlon Romeo is optimistic about adapting to life under Gary Rowett and is keen to continue their winning ways against Reading:

“Of course, there are adjustments in the team under the new manager that we are all getting used to, and its going well. Mahlon told Millwall’s official website.

“We have the full week of focus on Reading and we will be confident going into the game, and we are looking to build on the positives from our last away trip to Brentford.

Previous Encounters

Millwall have not won at the Madejski Stadium since February 2018.

More recently both sides have produced a win a piece, with Reading winning 3-1 in October 2018, and then Millwall clinching a 1-0 victory in December.

A victory for hosts on Saturday afternoon would give Mark Bowen’s side a huge confidence boost, but they will have to be wary of the threat that the Lions will pose.

They should expect to face a Millwall side who will be determined to continue Gary Rowett’s perfect start and secure all three points.
