Millwall will be looking to get back to winning ways following a two-game winless run, as they host Hull City in the Championship at The Den.

The Lions were on a five-match unbeaten run before losing 2-1 away to then bottom of the table Huddersfield Town followed by a goalless draw away to Birmingham City. Millwall currently sit ninth in the league, two points shy off the play off places.

21st placed Hull City come into this match having won six of their opening 18 league matches, although they are winless in their last two league matches, having lost 3-1 at home to Middlesbrough and 1-0 to Blackburn.

New Roles

The Tigers announced ex-player Liam Rosenior as their new manager on Thursday, he takes over from caretaker manager Andy Dawson, and will be looking to hit the ground running with a win against The Lions. Rosenior appeared in 161 matches for The Tigers between 2010 and 2015, helping them win promotion to the Premier League in 2012/2013 as well as reaching the 2014 FA Cup Final.

Millwall defender Murray Wallace will be missing as he serves a one match ban for accumulating five yellow cards this season. Rowett will also be without Benik Afobe, Shaun Hutchinson and Ryan Leonard, who are all absent with injuries.

Hull City also have injury troubles of their own as they will have to make the journey to London without Callum Elder, Benjamin Tetteh and Allahyar Sayadmanesh who are all unavailable for selection.

 

Players To Watch

With eight goals in 18 matches, Hull City’s Colombian striker Oscar Estupinan will be aiming to get back on goalscoring form having not scored in his last six appearances for The Tigers after starting this season with seven goals in the first six matches and has netted only once since. The Colombian joined Hull in the summer from Vitoria de Guimaraes in Portugal, where last season he netted 15 times in 28 league matches.

Millwall’s summer signing Zian Flemming tops the goal scoring charts for the Lions with five goals and they will once again look towards the Dutchman as their key man behind the striker.
