Not So Pretty Little Ad?

Ava Rogha invites two guests to talk it over.

Popular online store Pretty Little Thing has had an advertisement banned by the Advertising Standard Authority (ASA) for being over sexualised and for objectifying women. Pretty Little Thing’s response was that the ad in fact showed how the company “… supported and promoted diversity through bold and distinctive fashion of all shapes and sizes which focused on different trends.” Given how many of us use this online store, I sat down with Bathilde Ibenge and Jordan Jones to discuss the banning and whether it was fair or not.
