Leyton Orient will be hoping for a return to winning ways when they welcome play-off chasers Wrexham to Brisbane Road in the Vanarama National League this Saturday.

Orient come into the game in 14th place with 54 points. They have won 14, drawn 12, and lost 17 of their 43 games this season with a goal difference of 0.

In their previous outing away to Hartlepool United on Tuesday night, Louis Laing’s header was enough to condemn Orient to their first defeat in five league games.

This result sees Orient remain in mid-table with three games remaining, and the O’s will need to get a positive result this weekend if they want to achieve a top half finish.

The Opposition:

As for Wrexham, they come into the match on the back of a five-game winless run which has seen them drop out of the play-off places with two games remaining.

The Red Dragons sit 8th in the table with 69 points, just one behind Ebbsfleet United in the last play-off place. They have won 17, drawn 18 and lost 9 of their 44 games with a goal difference of 11.

In their last match, Andy Davies’ side fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat against Dagenham and Redbridge at the Racecourse Ground. Paul Rutherford put Wrexham ahead on 23 minutes, but a Fejiri Okenabirhie strike and David Raven own goal in the second half sent the Daggers back to East London with all three points.

Wrexham will need to come away from Brisbane Road with a victory if they want to keep their promotion hopes alive.

Ones to Watch:

For Orient, forward Josh Koroma has scored twice in his last three appearances with goals against Macclesfield Town and Barrow. The 19-year old is good with the ball at his feet, possessing pace and tenacity when driving at the opponents’ defence. Koroma started the match at Hartlepool up front alongside top scorer Macauley Bonne and will be looking to continue his good scoring run to help Orient finish the season strongly.

For Wrexham, striker Chris Holroyd is the Red Dragons’ top goalscorer with 13 goals in the National League this season. Holroyd has made 34 appearances for Wrexham this campaign and netted a brace when the sides met in the reverse fixture on October 28th. He will be hoping to add to this tally and help his side back into the promotion places.
