Having appointed a new head coach on Thursday, the O’s head to Lincolnshire to take on Grimsby Town. Despite Carl Fletcher being confirmed as the new man at the helm in E10, Ross Embleton will take charge of Orient for the final time on Saturday.

Form

The O’s come into this game in fine form having garnered seven points from their previous three league games, with last weekend’s 3-1 win over Walsall ensuring back to back Football League wins for the first time since August 2016.

The Mariners, on the other hand, come into this game in fairly patchy form, with one win in their last four.

Spearheaded by the experienced attacking duo James Hanson and Matt Green, they seem to be a side that blow hot and cold, something that is exemplified by their last two league results away from home.

Three weeks ago they handed Exeter City their only loss of the season so far, defeating them 3-1 at St James Park, before last week losing 2-1 to a Stevenage side who, before that game, hadn’t picked up three points all season.

Team News

Orient will be without two of their star strikers this weekend, as Conor Wilkinson serves the first of a three game ban following his straight red in the win at Walsall last weekend, whilst Lee Angol confirmed at a supporters event this week that he’s still up to four weeks away from full fitness.

Full back Sam Ling missed out against Walsall with a slight knock and could return, otherwise he will be deputised by Myles Judd.

Interim head coach Embleton will also be wary of the fact that this is the first of two fairly lengthy away trips in the space of a matter of days, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him rotate his side accordingly.

When and Where

The match takes place this Saturday October 19th at Blundell Park, Grimsby, with kick off scheduled for 3pm.
