Leyton Orient moved into the top half of League Two with a 1-0 victory over Bradford City at the Breyer Group Stadium on Tuesday evening.

It was the O’s second win on the bounce as they look to finish November better than they started it, having lost four in a row to the start the month.

It would be the visitors who started the stronger side and they had the majority of the early chances. Billy Clarke came close on two separate occasions in the game’s early moments, first heading his effort over from a Connor Wood cross and then seeing his second effort deflect off of Orient defender Josh Coulson only to be saved by keeper Lawrence Vigouroux.

Breakthrough

Despite Bradford’s good first half, it was Orient that found the breakthrough. Twenty minutes after the restart, a Jordan Maguire-Drew free-kick was met by Dan Happe who headed home to give the East London side the lead.

Following the goal, the game died down. Maguire-Drew nearly got on the score sheet again but could only find the side netting with his free kick attempt in the closing minutes.

“Delighted”

Manager Ross Embleton said following his sides second consecutive win at home: “I remember last year we talked about our home form not being good enough and we needed to fix this for the fans. I’m delighted we’ve managed to pick up these wins and get a bit of balance to the league table.”

Remarking on Dan Happe’s winner Orient’s boss said “I remember him scoring a similar header in the past. He’s become a massive fixture in the team, and we feel he has more to offer in how many goals he scores. I’m delighted as it’s something we are working on with him”

The win moves Orient up to eighth in the table and just one point off a playoff spot, while Bradford move down to 20th.

The O’s are back in action on Saturday as they travel to Port Vale in another League 2 encounter.
