Leyton Orient Women are preparing to take on Enfield Town Ladies in the FA Women’s National League at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium this Sunday.

The O’s currently sit fifth in South East Division One having secured 25 points from 17 matches this season.

They have been reasonably successful this season winning seven, drawing four and losing six of their matches with a goal difference of two.

In their last league outing, Orient travelled to face Ipswich Town Ladies at the Goldstar Ground.

Paige Wakefield nodded the hosts in front shortly after the restart, but Sophie Le Marchand came to the O’s rescue with a 73rd minute equaliser as the match finished 1-1.

‘Tough’

Speaking to Rising East this week, Orient striker Lisa Fulgence expects a tough re-match between the teams:

“We do feel confident, we believe on our day we can beat anyone. We played them in a semi- final midweek and got a 1-0 win, both teams now know what to expect from each other and it will be a hard fought contest again.”

Tough Town

North London outfit Enfield Town hold fourth spot in the league having played 16 games, one less than Orient, achieving a total of 26 points.

Town have secured seven wins and five draws, while falling to four defeats with a goal difference of six.

In their most recent league game, Enfield secured a 1-0 victory away to Stevenage Ladies on Wednesday night which saw them move one point ahead of Orient.

Forwards Firing

Enfield will have to watch the likes of Orient winger Hayley Barton who has enjoyed a good season so far, bagging 10 goals in 22 appearances.

However, Town’s Molly Peters is not far behind Barton having featured 20 times for the north- Londoners, managing 10 goals in the process.

The O’s may be favourites ahead of this encounter with the likes of Barton and Le Marchand, who has scored in her last two games, one of which was against Enfield last month.

Bragging Rights

Chris Brayford’s side faced Enfield in the Isthmian Cup semi-final on 27th February, walking away with a 1-0 win.

After a goalless 75 minutes, Le Marchand headed home the winner and Orient will be hoping to put in another strong performance this weekend.

When and Where?

The match will take place this Sunday 10th March with kick-off scheduled for 14:00 at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium.

It will be an interesting match between the division’s fourth and fifth placed sides, with recent history suggesting the teams will fiercely battle to come out on top this Sunday.
