The players at Leyton Orient will be dressed in a specially designed kit for their tie against 14th placed Bromley at the weekend.

The new fourth kit is a nod to Orient’s role in World War One, with 41 players and staff enlisting, as the O’s were the first English club to sign up en-masse 100 years ago.

Speaking to the club’s official website, vice-chairman Kent Teague recognised the importance of the gesture: “The main reason we had the kit made is because we know that history matters.”

Justin Edinburgh’s side head into the tie having been out of action for the past two weeks.

Failing to qualify for the FA Cup meant the O’s had the weekend off but the east-Londoners will relish the chance to get back onto the pitch.

Last time out, the O’s travelled to AFC Fylde winning 3-1 with a brace from Josh Koroma being the stand out. Orient sit second in the National League and victory this Saturday could see them regain top spot, should Wrexham fail to beat Maidstone United.

Midfielder Charlie Lee is set to spend a couple more weeks on the side-line after picking up a minor Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) injury against Fylde.

Sam Ling may return to the squad, having picked up a knock to the ankle the previous week against Havant & Waterlooville.

Bouncing Back

Bromley were knocked out of the FA Cup last week suffering a 3-1 loss at home to League One side Peterborough United.

Neil Smith will hope his side can pick up where they left off in the National League following a fantastic 4-0 win against Hartlepool United.

The Ravens sit in 14th place having failed to find a consistent run of results. The visitors make the short journey to east London with few injury concerns.

However, Frankie Raymond will be suspended for the tie having picked up a straight red card in the defeat to Peterborough.

Omar Bugiel was replaced during the second half due to injury. The Lebanon international will be monitored by Smith who will have to decide whether the forward is worth the risk.

Attack vs Defence

Orient’s Josh Koroma will be looking to kick on following his brace away to Fylde. The 20- year-old striker often finds himself in the shadow of goal machine Macauley Bonne.

However, Koroma’s work ethic and desire often leads to promising attacks for his side. The young Englishman has notched five goals as well as seven assists, proving a worthy strike partner to Bonne.

Bromley bring Premier League experience in the form of centre-back Roger Johnson. The former Wolverhampton Wanderers man joined Bromley in 2017 after a season with Charlton Athletic.

The 35-year-old will have the opportunity to meet up with former Wolves team mate George Elokobi. The centre-half will have to be at his best to deny the O’s strike force who have been prolific this season.

Value For Money

‘Football for a Fiver’ is making its return for this weekend’s fixture resulting in a sell-out crowd. The O’s players will enjoy the noise brought by thousands of spectators expected to gather for this National League tie.

When and Where?

The match will take place this Saturday 17th November at The Breyer Group Stadium with kick-off at 3pm.

The fixture is sold out so please do not head to the stadium if you do not have a ticket as you will only be disappointed.
