Head Coach Justin Edinburgh will look to take the O’s all the way to Wembley as they begin their FA Trophy campaign this Saturday.

Last time out, Orient tasted their first away defeat in the National League this season against Boreham Wood. Femi Ilesanmi’s early strike secured a 1-0 victory and all three points for Luke Garrard’s side.

James Dayton is set to be side-lined for the foreseeable future after undergoing knee surgery earlier this week. The 29-year-old was forced off midway through the first half of the 1-0 defeat away to Boreham Wood.

Myles Judd remains doubtful as he recovers from a hamstring injury which saw Sam Ling drafted back into the squad earlier than planned.

Charlie Lee is closer to a comeback for the O’s after returning to training as he recovers from a Medial Collateral Ligament injury.

Underdog Upset?

Gary Meakin is the manager of visitors Beaconsfield Town. The club play their football in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier South currently sitting seventh after promotion last season.

Founded in 1994, the club have promoted this game as ‘the biggest in their history’ ahead of visiting The Breyer Group Stadium.

On their way to the first round, The Rams saw off Kempston, Aveley and Leiston during the qualifying stages.

Room To Rotate

Edinburgh may look to shake things up with the opportunity to rest key players ahead of a busy festive period in the National League.

On the flip side, the gaffer may want to right the wrongs following a disappointing showing last weekend.

The likes of Alex Lawless, Dan Happe and James Alabi will be pushing for starts as they search for first team action.

Fact Attack

  • Orient reached the FA Trophy quarter-final last season during their debut year in the tournament.
  • Founded in 1969, the tournament offers teams below the Football League a realistic chance of playing at Wembley.

Narrow Miss

Having reached the quarter-finals last year, the O’s were knocked out by Gateshead across two ties. Orient had been 3-0 up in the original tie, but three late goals saw the Heed force a replay which they went on to win 3-2.

Did you know?

Steve Sweetlove, Beaconsfield Town’s vice-chairman, is an Orient supporter. Sweetlove regularly attends home games at the Breyer Group Stadium, but where will his allegiances lie this time around?

When and Where?
