Leyton Orient require only a point at home to Braintree this Saturday to secure the National League title and promotion to League Two.

A 2-0 victory at home to Harrogate Town and a 0-0 draw away to Solihull Moors over the Easter weekend leaves Justin Edinburgh’s side on the cusp of glory.

A victory against Solihull last Monday would have secured promotion, with Salford falling to a 1-0 defeat to AFC Fylde.

However, a valuable point ensures Orient are three points clear, with a healthy goal difference compared with both of their title rivals.

Though Monday’s fixtures all but confirmed Orient’s fate, the east-London club are not yet confirmed champions.

Team News

With the FA Trophy final left to play, this is the penultimate game in Orient’s season. Sam Ling and James Dayton remain sidelined for the O’s with injuries.

Dayton recently underwent his second operation of the season after dislocating his ankle away to Sutton United.

However, the league leaders have been boosted by the return of both captain Jobi McAnuff and defender Jamie Turley over the weekend.

Predicted XI

How the O’s could line up against Braintree this weekend

Buoyant Braintree

Despite their relegation, Braintree come into the tie in hot form. Four wins in their last five matches have seen The Iron climb off the bottom of the table and above Maidstone United.

Managed by Danny Searle, the visitors will be full of confidence after seeing off both Fylde and Gateshead in recent outings.

When and Where?

The game is set for a 12:30 kick-off this Saturday 27th April at the Breyer Group Stadium. It is completely sold out, though is live on BT Sport.
