O’s Two Games From Ticket To Wembley

Leyton Orient face two battles with AFC Telford for a place in the FA Trophy final at Wembley Stadium. Dan Walker previews the first leg at The Breyer Group Stadium tomorrow.

Having established a three point lead at the top of the National League table, the O’s turn their attention to the cup as they prepare to host AFC Telford in the semi-final of the FA Trophy.

Four wins on the spin have put Orient in control of their own fate with nine league games remaining.

Jordan Maguire-Drew was forced off with a calf injury on Tuesday night, halting the youngster’s brilliant form of late.

Jay Simpson may also miss the tie due to a minor hamstring issue sustained against Wrexham last week.

Justin Edinburgh was boosted by James Dayton’s return from the bench midweek and the winger will likely push for minutes as he aims to reach full fitness.

Josh Koroma is another key player who is looking to return from injury. The England-C international will be hoping to re-join the match day squad this weekend.

Selection Headache

Telford sit seventh in the National League North and are the lowest ranked side remaining in the competition.

The Bucks, managed by Gavin Cowan, have already caused many upsets in the competition having eliminated Hartlepool United and Solihull Moors.

Visiting goalkeeper Andy Wycherley has been out of action with an eye injury picked up against Boston United on 2nd March.

Having temporarily lost the sight in his left eye, the 20-year old may not recover in time for the trip to east-London meaning Gavin Cowan would be forced into the emergency loan market.

This is due to the fact that fellow goalkeeper, Josef Bursik, is ineligible for the competition having represented Hednesford Town earlier in the season.

Trophy Tale

Wrexham 0-1 Leyton Orient (Matt Harrold)
