The 65-year-old’s side are currently on a three-match winning run after victories over AFC Fylde, Bromley, and a 3-1 victory over Havant & Waterlooville on Tuesday evening. Conor Wilkinson bagged a brace and Angelo Balanta weighed in with his second goal for the club to secure the victory, pushing the East London side up to 17th in the league.

Hartlepool’s Poor Form

In contrast, Hartlepool are on a six-game losing streak in the League, and with Matthew Bates departing from the ‘Monkey Hangers’ on Wednesday evening, Director of Football Craig Hignett will be in charge of the club against the Daggers. The Pools’ latest defeat was 2-1 against AFC Fylde on Tuesday evening, and they currently sit in 13th place.

Earlier In The Season

The two sides have already met in the league this season, with Hartlepool securing a 2-1 victory over the Daggers at the Chigwell Construction Stadium on the 25th August. Alex McQueen put the East London side ahead on 36 minutes, before second half goals from Michael Woods and Liam Noble secured the win for the Pools.

Absentees

Dagenham could be without captain Ben Nunn, who was forced off injured in the victory over Havant & Waterlooville after a pretty robust challenge from Ryan Woodford. Alex Davey and Liam Bellamy will definitely not take part on Saturday, as the pair recover from knee injuries. Nathan Smith is also unlikely to feature after he suffered a leg injury on his debut against Harrogate at the end of October.

For the home side, Andrew Davies isn’t available for selection as he continues his recovery from a calf strain, while Luke Williams is still sidelined after his knee operation. Changes in personnel are expected as Hignett may give others a chance after the departure of Matthew Bates.
