Pop-Blasphemy – What Should A Christian Do?

Christianity is the most popular religion on earth, but music videos and TV shows seem to feel free to play fast and loose with Christian imagery, biblical events, and the bible, often portraying my religion in a negative light.

I wanted to find out why Christianity unlike other religions gets the blasphemous treatment. In this two-part podcast I asked a fellow Christian and a self-described Heathen academic what they thought.

In episode one, I talk to Alex Matthews, an orthodox Christian who once trained for priesthood. We discuss what Christianity means to him, how he sees western culture and so much more.

In episode two, I talk to Dr Mark Beachill, a lecturer at UEL. He sets out to decipher how and why Christian icons are used in popular culture and gives his thoughts on Christianity and colonialism.

Did I get closer to explaining how Christianity is shown in a negative light today? You decide.
