Posts From The Pandemic No 12: Norway Rolls On

When COVID-19 reached Norway a few weeks ago, people started lining up at grocery stores to get their hands on essentials in case of a lock down. In addition to this, Norway’s borders have been closed off to all foreign nationals who do not live or work in Norway since 16 March, and the streets have never looked emptier in Norway’s capital, Oslo.

As you can see, my flight to Oslo on 17 March was quite empty and I was lucky enough to have the whole row to myself…and the row next to mine!

A few weeks in – with a total number of 2566 cases and 10 deaths, the shopping situation is now stabilising and grocery stores have promised that they will soon be fully re-stocked.

On her way to the shop, my sister Parva Rogha, reported on Oslo’s current situation. Luckily, Norwegians are not short of toilet paper!
