The East End Trades Guild have announced a tour of Spitalfields Traders and small businesses to take place as part of the Small Business Saturday celebrations on December 3rd.
The tour led by regular guide The Good Author will include some of the history of the market that dates back to a charter given by Charles II in the 17th century.
Highlights include the Victorian times and Jack the Ripper, the market establishing itself as London’s fruit and vegetable hub and its current incarnation as a small traders and artisans market.
Krissie Nicolson, the Director of East End Trades Guild, has said “This tour is a fun adventure that will illuminate the real East End and the punk spirit origins of independent businesses.”
Tickets are available at £15 per person available online from Eventbrite and include an East Ender Trades guild tote bag with refreshments served at one of the guild member establishments at the end of the tour.
