Muhammed Mustaqim talks to Daggers first team coach Darren Currie about the defeat at home to Newport County…

Dagenham & Redbridge first team coach Darren Currie believes the sending-off of captain Abu Ogogo turned the game in Newport’s favour as the Daggers lost by a late goal at Victoria Road.

Chris Zebroski headed the winner from Andy Sandell’s cross as Newport took all three points and gain their second win on the bounce leaving the Daggers empty-handed.

But Currie believes his side deserved “at least a point.”

He explained: “It always has an impact because obviously you have to change your shape and change one or two personal because you’re down to ten men so it always has an impact, there’s no doubt about it.”

He added: “I thought we would get over the line [on Saturday] and get a minimum of a point. We started very well and had a game plan for the first ten to fifteen minutes and the game plan happened on for a further 35 minutes and it was one of the best we’ve started this season.”

The Daggers are 19th in the Sky Bet League Two table and next travel to Luton Town.
