Dillian Whyte is to face domestic rival Dereck Chisora in a heavyweight clash on the 22nd December at the O2 Arena.

Tale Of The Tape

The pair first fought in December 2016, with Whyte winning a close fight with the scorecards reading 115-113 to Whyte, 115-114 to Chisora and 115-114 to Whyte.
The fight drew nationwide attention when the 34-year-old launched a table towards Whyte in the pre-fight press conference in Manchester.

In the two years since that memorable fight, Whyte has gone on to win an unanimous decision against Robert Helenius to claim the WBC Silver Heavyweight title and managed to secure the WBO International Heavyweight title against former World Champion Joseph Parker in a blockbuster fight this July at the O2 Arena.

Dillian ‘The Body Snatcher’ Whyte has a professional record of 24-1, 17 by knockout, with his sole loss coming to unified world champion Anthony Joshua.

Chisora has also won a title of his own, defeating former Anthony Joshua opponent, Carlos Takam to win the WBA International Heavyweight title in a fight which saw him losing every round before knocking out the experienced Frenchman.

‘Del Boy’ Dereck Chisora’s record sits at 29-8, with 21 of those wins coming by way of knockout.

The Brawl To Settle It All

Whyte expressed his confidence by claiming that he will end Chisora’s career.

“This is going to be the donkey’s final destination. This will be Chisora’s last fight. He’s going to be heading home after it looking like he’s been run over by a truck.”

The fight is set to clash with another domestic dust-up as Carl Frampton challenges Josh Warrington for his IBF Featherweight Title at the Manchester Arena.

With both cards on pay-per-view, it could be an expensive evening for British boxing fans.

Chisora To Upset The Odds?

Since their last contest, Chisora has taken another defeat, losing another close contest to the unbeaten Agit Kabayel by majority decision for the EBU European title in Monaco in November 2017.

According to Sky Bet, Whyte is a 2/9 favourite for the fight, with Chisora a 10/3 underdog. The draw can be backed at 25/1. As of yet no undercard bouts have been announced.

The fight will take place live on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK and DAZN in the United States.

The press-conference can be watched on Matchroom Boxing’s YouTube Channel.
