Sam Tomlinson reports from Wembley and the final NFL game in London for 2014…

After missing last week because of a back injury, Tony Romo shone in a 31-17 victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the third and last game of the year held in London.

Romo completed 20 of 27 passes for 246 yards with three scores giving him a quarterback passer rating of 138.8.

The Dallas Cowboys offense was quick off the mark in the first quarter with Jason Witten scoring from two yards out before Dez Bryant got the sell-out Wembley crowd to their feet not once but twice in the second. First scoring from a 35-yard catch and then by a 68-yard score, Bryant finished the game with six catches for 158 yards.

Joseph Randle added a 40-yard scamper for a touchdown and the NFL’s leading rusher Demarco Murray ran for 100 yards on 19 carries.

Dallas head in to their bye week 7-3 and can take the lead of the NFC East Division if the 6-2 Philadelphia Eagles lose in their Monday night matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

The Jags now move to a woeful 1-9 but can find some comfort in the performance of sophomore runningback Denard Robinson who rushed for a pair of touchdowns. Rookie quarterback Blake Bortles struggled with a sore left wrist and threw for 290 yards with one interception.

The attention can now turn to the news of another three regular season games to be held in the capital next year. With more games coming it raises the controversial question to whether a franchise should be established across the pond.
