The Daggers bounced back from defeat by earning a point late on at home to Boreham Wood. Both sides went in search of a winner but neither side could find one. The point moves Dagenham up a place to 13th.

First Half

Dagenham started the brighter of the two teams in the opening exchanges. Josh Walker drove forward into the final third and passed out wide to new signing Sam Smart who crossed but could only find the hands of Nathan Ashmore.

Junior Morias was inches away from getting a touch.

The home side were on top and caused Boreham Wood problems. Morias found himself in space and almost created a bit of magic, as he dribbled past four defenders before getting his shot off. Unfortunately, his effort went high and wide.

It wasn’t until the latter stages of the half when Boreham Wood managed to get a foothold in the game. Zak Brunt’s corner was nodded back to Jack Payne who could only strike his effort off target.

Two minutes later there was another chance for the visitors when Dennon Lewis played in Cameron Coxe, but his shot went inches past Elliot Justham’s post.

Second Half

The visitors started the second half how they finished the first. Defender Will Evans had a header cleared off the line three minutes before the deadlock was broken. Danny Newton played in Brunt who struck a curling effort out of Justham’s reach into the top corner.

The opening goal sparked the Daggers into life when on 70 minutes Morias and Walker linked up, and the former unleashed a shot that was destined to hit the back of the net, but Ashmore produced a brilliant save to deny a leveller.

Not long after though the Daggers found themselves level. On 75 minutes substitute Myles Weston pounced on a loose ball following a Morias shot. Weston guided his effort past Ashmore to bring the game all squad.

McMahon Speaks

Manager Daryl McMahon thought the draw was a fair result:

“I think it was a really good game between two good sides in the league. We knew it would be tough against an in-form Boreham Wood side. “

What’s Next For The Daggers?

Up next for the Daggers is another home game against Wealdstone who sit just one place below them in the table.
