‘The Greater Game’ is a play that honours the 41 players and staff of Leyton Orient who were the first to sign up en masse to fight in the First World War.
The production follows Richard McFadden and William Jonas’ journey from north-east England to London, as the two best friends pursue their football careers and consequently become intertwined with war.
On Set
Upon going to see the production at the Waterloo East theatre, I had the opportunity to speak to writer Michael Head who also stars in the play.
The Bermondsey-born star opened up about the significance of the production in such a massive year for remembrance, and commended Leyton Orient for all they have done this year.
