With two games remaining in the BBL Cup group stage for the London Lions, the Lions will need to face the Plymouth City Patriots next this Sunday at 3 pm away from home.

The Lions currently hold a five win and zero loss record in the South Division group and are the only team in the tournament that remains undefeated.

The London giants last played the Surrey Scorchers on the 8th of October and the Bristol Flyers on the 10th of October both at the Copper Box Arena.

Coming out victorious in both games with the help of Dirk Williams who starred in both matchups totaling 48 points through those two games.

Williams has been an absolute machine this year for the Lions and has led them to victory at home, away, and even abroad.

Momentum

The Lions are as good as guaranteed to make the knock-out stages of the BBL Cup but with two more games to go it’s important not to slip up and lose the momentum they have held for weeks.

The Lions rival, The Plymouth City Patriots, on the other hand, have had a poor tournament so far. They currently hold a record of four losses and zero wins, so, a matchup against the Lions could be the perfect time for them to turn things around and regain the much-needed confidence they seem to be lacking.

Make Or Break

Denzel Ubiaro has been one of the few positives for the Patriots averaging 20 points per game, making him the only player on the team to average such a number of points.

The last time the Patriots met the Lions was in late September and the Lions took care of business that night, blowing the Patriots out by 29 points, 90-61.

That day the Lions played great as a team with four players chipping in and adding 15 plus points each, while Ubiaro remained the biggest threat for the Patriots scoring 20.

Both teams are in very different positions entering the game on Sunday the 17th, The Lions looking to keep their momentum and the Patriots looking to change theirs. A lot to play for on both sides, which should provide us with an entertaining game.
