Warrior Challenge Mixed Martial Arts (WCMMA) opens its doors for the 18th time on Saturday 6th December. East Londoner Hawinder ‘The Tiger’ Sira readies up to defend the 84kg UK-1 Championship he emphatically acquired from Tony Louis, this time facing off against Michael McVoy.

Louis is ‘relegated’ to an intriguing fight at heavyweight against the newly crowned UK-1 light heavyweight champion Stan Wilson.

Speaking to Rising East in the immediate aftermath of his championship win at WCMMA 17, Wilson suggested that he would look to start transitioning to a professional career after “getting a few defences under [his] belt”, so it’s interesting to see him go out of his way to fight a man with the experience of over 500 boxing matches during his career.

The co-main event sees Modestas Bukauska defend his light-heavyweight title against the tenacious Kajetan Szoma under mixed martial arts rules. Bukauska has only had two months to recover from his slugfest with Harry Allen during WCMMA 17 that went all three rounds, and will look to further stamp his authority on the division, having been the only champion out of five to retain his belt on that card.

Three other championships are on the line. Mervin Pobi and Brady Cann face off for the welterweight championship; Michael Appleton defends his middleweight championship against surging contender Imran Khan; and perpetual sluggers Andy Cona and James McFadyen face pff in a welterweight charity title fight under UK-1 rules.

WCMMA 18 will showcase eighteen amateur/semi-pro bouts and is scheduled to start at 18:30 at the Troxy in East London.
