Titans Looking to End the Year with a Win

Sebastian Liggenstorfer previews The Titans’ final game of 2015.

The UEL Titans will take on the London South Bank University Spartans this Sunday as they look to claim their first ever win.

The Titans have had a lot of time to prepare for this vital third game as their last match against Greenwich was postponed due to a lack of officials.

Due to issues with goalposts, UEL’s American Football team have not played any of their games with field goals so far, however, Sundays’ game should be the first time the team plays with the proper ‘woodowrk’.

Also, the famous gridiron should also be marked on the field of play to create a more authentic feel to the game.

Team captain Louis Oswald is looking forward to the prospect of playing with the required equipment for American Football for the first time this weekend.

“Playing on a properly marked field and with real goal posts allows the game to run smoothly, as it can be officiated correctly. It also brings the authenticity of the game to this country and as our games are in view of the general public, it can possibly attract others to the sport

Strong

The Titans will look to improve on the offensive side against LSBU to support the defence, who have played impressively so far this season.

Callum Mair’s team are only two points behind the Spartans in the league table, with one game in hand. It means win for the Titans could see them go above the visitors in the league table.

The Titans will try to maintain a strong running game as they did in their opening game two games. There have been some changes to the offensive line and at running back, which will give them a new look.

The Spartans are coming off their worst game of the season. They lost against the University of Greenwich in a low-scoring game and are now four points behind them in the league table.

It will be the last game before the Christmas break for the Titans as they try to finish the first half of the season with a win.
