Top Five Things To Scoff At This Easter

While stuffing your face might sound like the perfect way to spend the Easter holiday, you won’t want to end up with a muffin top. Luckily, Tom Hedley has put together a package of eggs-traordinary events, only some of which involve eating. Please excuse the hot cross puns.

1) Ever eaten so much that you feel sick? Well, The London Dungeon has got something extra sickening this year. Death By Chocolate is the Dungeon’s newest attraction, where you will meet the deadly sweet Miss Edmonds and her wonderfully ‘normal’ sweet shop. And by normal, we mean, ahem, poisoned.

INFO: The London Dungeon, County Hall, Westminster Bridge Rd, London, SE17PB

2) Stumble through the enchanting craft shops at Gabriel’s Wharf. There will be treats aplenty in this year’s Easter egg hunt, along with free Easter craft workshops and a wide range of cafes, restaurants and bars. Easter egg hunts run Fri-Mon, 11am-6pm.

3) If you haven’t tried it already, the Cereal Killer Café is the first of its kind and – you guessed it – it sells cereal (all sorts of cereal) with extras on top. Choose from over 120 varieties and add as much milk as your heart desires. And to add to your eggs-citment, try the all new Easter Eggstravaganza ‘cocktail’: Toffee Crisp, Golden Nuggets, Peeps, Mini eggs, Kinder egg and milk! Mmm!

INFO: Open everyday 7am – 10pm. No bookings taken. Cereal Killer Café, 139 Brick Lane, London, E1 6SB

4) Easter means a four day weekend! Kick it off at The Book Club, Shoreditch’s answer to the unconventional. The Get Down Easter Specialfeatures Red Bull’s Thre3style champion DJ Santero. Expect hopping mad R&B, hip hop, disco, funk and soul classics till the early hours. Have a really GOOD Friday.

INFO: Free before 9pm, £5 after. The Book Club 100 – 106, Leonard Street, London, EC2A 4RH. www.wearetbc.com

4) So you’re recovering from Thursday night, Friday, and most likely Saturday too, there’s one more place to be. The grungy, back-alley Corsica Studios are hosting EgloRecords to wave a final jazz hand to the weekend. Featuring funk specialist Andrew Ashongand Rinse FM regular Alexander Nut, dance your egg off until the modest hour of 6am

INFO: 10pm-6am, £10 advance, £12 OTD. 4-5 Elephant Rd, London, SE17 1LB
