Name: Troy Walters

Age: 22

Position: ST/LW

Birthplace: London, England

Number: 11

The sky is the limit for top goal scorer Troy Walters, with six goals in seven appearances this season for the star striker. Walters capped off a brilliant display last week after scoring a rocket of a freekick last week in UEL’s  4 – 0 win over Essex.

The striker is having a good start of the season considering it is his first year with the UEL first team after the previous season being postponed due to covid.

Early Career

Walters started his career playing as a right-sided winger in Bristol, using his technical dribbling skills to take on and beat multiple defenders from the wing.

Eventually, when he was 16, he was moved to the striker’s position as he was bigger and quicker than everyone else.

He possessed the ability to hold up the ball very well. Alongside this, he could also finish very well which made him a viable asset in front of goal.

“Model Athlete”

With a great start to the season so far, the golden boot contender with six goals in seven games looks to set the standard even higher by saying. “My goal is to get a goal every game”.

With this mindset he looks set to go very far in his career, looking up to arguably the best player in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo: “Ronaldo is the model athlete, if I want to be good or even great, I watch him.”

Play Style

Walters is the type of player that puts on a show for the crowd which would be tantalisingly exciting to watch as a spectator.

Emulating the way winger Yannick Bolasie plays, Walters possesses the skill, flair and dribbling ability to beat defenders to create chances for the UEL first team and his semi-pro team, Southend Manor.

Walters is currently being used as a dynamic no-11 style winger for the UEL team assisting two goals so far this season showing he also has great playmaking skills.

Walters started the season playing for East Grinstead as a right-winger and striker, scoring three goals in five starts showed just how prolific he is as an overall attacker, before moving to Southend Manor a couple of weeks ago.

UEL

Currently first in the BUCS league, the UEL team looks set to dominate the season again with Walters adding. “We’ve had a good start, we’re gelling together now, and we have a really good squad, so players coming off the bench are just as good as the starting 11”.

Considering this is the first time they’re playing together as a team since before Covid the team are doing impeccably well so far under the guidance of coach Ryan Gordon, who previously was a coach at Norwich City FC.

Walters can really prevail within this squad. He can have a great career considering the fact that coach Gordon has a great eye for talent, just ask West Ham’s all-time top goal scorer Michail Antonio who was brought to the attention of AFC Wimbledon by Gordon but was not signed after a trial with the club earlier in his career.

Could we be looking at the next winger turned star striker in Troy Walters?
