At last, the women’s UEL netball team have come to the end of their season following their nine-point win against the Kings College side, 35-26.

“Defence!”

The game was very intense as both teams were fighting head-to-head the whole game. There were many interceptions and jumping up and down the court. Both teams looked strong on both sides of the court.

Goal Attack Kyra Boyce, played incredibly well as she was one of the main players that stood out making fantastic goals for UEL alongside Ellie Eaton who won player of the match.

The word “Defence” could be heard throughout the gym as the crowd that turned up for the match cheered on the UEL side that was looking to finally bring down the Kings College team.

Promotion Bound

Compared to the previous UEL outing, the Kings College 6th team really brought their A-game playing a superb and fast all-around game with some really solid defence.

“I’m super happy about this match, what a wicked way to end the season,” said Ellie Eaton post-match. As the BUCS league has finally concluded, UEL finished second overall in the BUCS league division eight with LSE being the only team better than the UEL side and finishing first.

Kings college’s 6th team finished in third.

UEL ladies also wish all the third years that will be leaving the university the best after graduating and wish them luck for their journeys.

UEL ladies will be playing in a tournament cup called the Varsity Cup against Anglia Ruskin University on Wednesday 30th March 2022 at 12pm at the University of East London’s own Sports Dock.

UEL students feel free to come and watch the game live!
