On the opening day of the season UEL kicked off their 2018 season against Brunel, defeating their London rivals by a huge 36-point margin, 99-63.

Last time out saw the table-toppers produce another stellar performance against the University of West England, in a 22-point win last Wednesday (winning 84-62), adding another win to UEL’s pristine collection of successes so far this season.

UEL’s track record against Brunel, shows not only have they managed a win against them already this season, but also in past seasons Brunel have struggled.

UEL will no doubt be walking into this face off brimming with confidence in light of their immaculate record so far this season.

Brunel’s ‘Bogey’ Team

Brunel have repeatedly failed to come out on top in past seasons following two previous losses just a month apart in January and February with a 25-point loss in the start of 2018 and a 10-point loss the following month.

Not only have Brunel failed to emerge victorious in all previous encounters against UEL, but the hosts only managed to finish in 5th position last season, mirroring that at the start of this season.

Opponents Brunel currently occupy 5th  spot in the Premier South table, having only been successful in one of their five games so far, which came following an eight-point 82-74 win last Wednesday against Middlesex University.

Having achieved a solo win last Wednesday, Brunel will be approaching this game with considerable confidence despite their four previous losses including a loss to the beginning of the season against visitors UEL.

Never-the-less, Brunel’s first and only win, does not equate to the task ahead leading into the match up against UEL who remain unbeaten all season, which will undoubtedly be an immense test for Brunel.

UEL have the chance to continue their impressive form this Wednesday, add to their undefeated record and extend their lead at the top of the Premier South table.
