The UEL ladies netball team came face to face with the women’s LSE third side on Wednesday evening as LSE claimed the win over UEL, 25-20, and remained top of the division.

The game was intense with both teams fighting head-to-head for the victory. UEL goal shooter Tenisha Garner won the player of the match award for her effort on defence and offence while Abigail Rajan made her return appearance after an ankle injury.

The game had people on the edge of their seats as it was a very fast-paced game with both teams eager to take the win. Both UEL and LSE came out with top performances as this game was a top-of-the-table match-up.

The UEL team played a very good defensive game which helped them keep the game close throughout the night.

UEL finished the first half in the lead and seemed to play well enough to retain the LSE side from taking over the lead but LSE proved to not turn their backs so easily as they claimed the lead in the last quarter and held off UEL.

“Well Played To All”

The fast and steady play of LSE during the game helped them keep it close till the very end when they could finally take over.

The two teams had faced each other a while back in October 2021 where the UEL team won 36-15 which made this game even more intense as both sides were fighting for more than just the top of the table.

This loss adds to the latest disappointments of UEL as they have now lost two games in a row but the team’s captain Ellie Eaton had some inspiring words for her team after the defeat, “Well played to all!… Do not dwell on it too much!… Lot’s of positives to take from today so let’s go again next week.”

UEL has three games left of the season to step up and make this season go their way before the 8B division finishes.
