The UEL women’s netball match scheduled for the 9th of March was canceled due to ‘unspecified reasoning’. The game has been rescheduled to take place on the 23rd of March instead at 4pm in Sportsdock.

Isobel White, a key player for the UEL side was disappointed the game didn’t go ahead:

“I was ready to win today… we have worked really hard as a team all season to get to where we are now and seeing myself and the girls progress throughout the season goes to show how much we have put in.”

The UEL side ran training drills after the cancelation making that their second training session in one week.

That sort of attitude demonstrates how determined the ladies are to win their division, as a win against Kings College’s sixth team would make them the division champions and guarantee a promotion for next season.

Returning Players

The postponement of the game will give extra time for both sides to prepare for this end-of-the-season clash. UEL was set to enter the game against King’s college without Gemima M. Eshimu as she felt unwell to play on the 9th March.

With hopes that Eshimu will fully recover by the 23rd, the UEL side get a mental boost knowing that one of the team’s leaders and best performing players will most likely return to the line-up for this crucial meeting.

The two teams will be meeting for the second time this season after Kings College defeated the UEL team 27-26 in the previous meeting back in early February.

The UEL team seems very determined not to let this happen again and putting in the extra work is certainly the right way to go if they are serious about winning the 8B division.
