There is still no clear information on when the 2020/21 season will start for the Lee Valley Lions. Even the club themselves have commented saying, “Sadly, at this time there is no information about the start of the season.”

However, the Lee Valley Lions management has some promising information for the uncertain upcoming season ahead.

Last Season

The previous season for the Lions was a tough one, to say the least. With very little success throughout the year, the team went on a disastrous run of 20 games without a single victory.

The Lions struggled a lot with keeping possession of the puck, creating opportunities and speed which saw some teams run them out of their own arena on certain occasions.

Looking Forward

When asked what the fans should expect in the upcoming season from their team the management was enthusiastic. There is a strong willingness to turn things around and to forget about the previous nightmare filled season.

The club’s coach and player James Joseph is optimistic, “I think we will be a slightly younger more energetic team…I know our players are really keen to just get back on the ice!”

The lack of energy and speed was apparent last season but a player that always gave the Lions some promise is Jordan Ho.

If the Lions can add more players with similar hands and his speed to the team there’s a real shot at winning more games next season.

The Return

The Lee Valley Lions will be looking to schedule some friendly games once they have been given the green light to get back on ice from the EIHA.

There is a lot to improve upon for the Lions heading forward but that is what makes their return to the ice that much more exciting.
