Lions Aim For Six Of The Best

After another emphatic league win against the Manchester Giants on Sunday, the London Lions will look to continue their incredible start to the BBL season as they host the Leeds Force at the Copper Box Arena tomorrow.

The Lions took advantage of a struggling Manchester side on Sunday to get an away win at the Trafford Sports dome.

Rashad Hassan’s 22 points and 18 rebounds helped the Lions to secure a win, stretching their winning streak to an impressive five games. In contrast, the Manchester club are yet to win a game in the early stages of the season and failed miserably to contain an energetic London team.

Challenge

Lions star Kai Williams added 18 points alongside an admirable 17 points from Alex Owumi, making the offense look reasonably straight-forward for the visitors.

However, this Wednesday coach Nigel Lloyd and the Lions face a fresh challenge and will seek to make the most of their home advantage at the Copper Box as they welcome Leeds.

Determined

The Leeds Force, led by head-coach Matt Newby, hold a record of one win and three losses so far in this championship, but are determined to stand up as a team and halt the Lions’ explosive start.

The visitors will be shaking off two very recent and tough defeats at the hands of league leaders the Leicester Riders, including a 92-60 loss on Sunday.

On paper, the Leeds force side doesn’t pose much of a threat to the high-rolling with the home squad playing as aggressively as they have done in recent weeks, and emerging as an early, in-form contender in the BBL this season.

The Lions will surely look to play Rashad Hassan again in the hope he produces another dominating night, after grabbing a double-double on Sunday.

Kai Williams, alongside Hassan, has featured in the BBL Team of the Week prior to this fixture and will no doubt be looking to live up to early expectations from coaches and fans.
