Anthony Yarde Returns To The Ring

Mihail Mitov previews Hackney born Anthony Yarde's upcoming defence of his WBO Inter-Continental Light Heavyweight Title

Unbeaten light-heavyweight Anthony Yarde (16-0) will come back to the ring for the first time since June against the experienced Walter Gabriel Sequera (21-4) at the Brentwood Centre, Essex on October the 20th.

MAIN EVENT

The Hackney-born fighter will continue his journey to the top of the division against the Argentinian who is on a four winning streak.

Yarde, who is considered to be one of the top prospects in British boxing, will defend his WBO Inter-Continental Light Heavyweight Title in a fight night promoted by Frank Warren and televised by BT Sport.

Back in June, the Ilford-based fighter stopped Polish fighter, Dariusz Sek inside seven rounds on the Martin Murray under-card at the O2 Arena.

CO-HEADLINE

The British Welterweight title will also be at stake for Gary Corcoran (18-2-0) and Johnny Garton (22-1-1).

For Garton whose only loss was to Sam Eggington back in 2014, this would be an opportunity to win the British title after securing the IBF European Welterweight Title back in 2017 against Frenchman, Mihail Orlov at the CopperBox Arena.

UNDERCARD

An intriguing match-up between 20-year-old Zak Chelli (4-0) and Umar Sadiq (3-0) will feature on Warren’s show.

Chelli, who made his debut in February 2017 will fight for the second time this year after his TKO win against journeyman, Przemyslaw Binienda earlier this year at York Hall.

Middleweight Joe Mullender will feature on the card for the first time in nearly ten months after his bout with Lee Churcher for the IBF European Middleweight Title.

Former WBO European Welterweight titlist Bradley Skeete will also appear on the bill with an opponent yet to be announced.
