Charlton goalkeepers Nathan Harness and Ashley Maynard-Brewer have been recalled by the Addicks as they look to cope with an injury crisis between the sticks.

Harness joined Charlton in 2019 and has gone on to make one first team appearance for the Addicks. The 22-year-old has struggled for first team football and has been sent out on loan on four occasions. His counterpart Maynard-Brewer is a year older and has yet to make a first team appearance, having been sent out on loan six times since joining Charlton in 2018.

Harness joined Bromley in October but didn’t make an appearance for the Ravens in what was an initial 28-day loan. Maynard-Brewer has been recalled from a season-long loan at Gillingham, but he also didn’t make an appearance in his short time at the Gills.

With Charlton first choice keeper Joe Wollacott travelling to Qatar for Ghana’s World Cup campaign despite being injured, and backup keeper Craig MacGillivray being an injury doubt, Charlton manager Ben Garner has had no choice but to recall the two keepers in hope that they can be in the squad for Saturday’s game against Port Vale.

MacGillivray started the 3-3 draw at Burton Albion last weekend following Wollacott’s injury in the warmup, but after Saturdays draw Garner revealed to Charlton’s website that MacGillivray “suffered delayed concussion”, and it is expected that Maynard-Brewer will make a full league debut this weekend.
