F.A Trophy First-Round Draw

  • Leyton Orient v Beaconsfield Town
  • Ebbsfleet United v Dagenham & Redbridge

The F.A Trophy first-round draw handed league leaders Leyton Orient a home tie to Beaconsfield Town, whilst Peter Taylor’s Daggers will travel to Stonebridge Road, as they take on Ebbsfleet United.

Ties will be played will be played on the weekend of the 15th December.

Who?

Orient’s challengers, Beaconsfield, currently sit eighth in the Evo-Stik League South, the seventh tier of English football.

Dagenham and Ebbsfleet have already met this year in the National League, with The Fleet leaving the Chigwell Construction Ground with all three points. Danny Kedwell bagged a brace, as Ebbsfleet ran out 3-1 winners. Shamir Mullings scored his first goal for the Daggers, having signed on loan from Maidstone.

Last Year

The O’s reached the quarter-finals in last year’s tournament before being knocked out to Gateshead, losing 3-2 in the replay. Orient had been 3-0 up in the original tie, but three late goals saw the North-East side, force a replay.

Dagenham crashed out of the tournament in the second round last year, as Hereford FC beat them 3-2. Mike Symons’ 77th minute penalty was the difference at Edgar Street, as The Bulls marched onto the third round.
