Dagenham and Redbridge managed to secure a replay after equalising in the dying stages of their match against rivals, Borehamwood.

Manager’s Thoughts

Speaking to DaggersTV after the game, Peter Taylor, Dagenham manager was proud with the performance his players put in to keep them on the road to Wembley and earn his side a replay on Tuesday night:

“The difference was character, and metal on the ball. That has to happen at a minute to three o’clock, we mustn’t all of a sudden be chasing a game and think ‘oh well we’d better get a bit braver on the ball’, it’s got to start from the first whistle.”

Comeback

A Josh Umerah penalty had given Borehamwood the lead early in the first half, with Justin Shaibu doubling the home side’s advantage in the 85th minute.

The Daggers found hope with Tomi Adeloye converting from the penalty spot as the match crept in to added time.

Just as the tie seemed over, Luke Pennell earned the visiting east Londoners a replay on Tuesday night with his towering 93rd minute header, meeting a sumptuous Ollie Harfield cross.

Replay

The replay is set for Tuesday 23rd October at the Chigwell Construction Centre, with kick-off at 19:45.
