Dagenham & Redbridge take on 8th placed Sutton United in the National League on Saturday, as they look to extend their winning run to three matches after victories over Harrogate Town and Dover Athletic.

Important Victories

Tomi Adeloye and Harry Phipps both scored in the first half against the Whites, to secure the clubs fourth win of the season. Taylor told DaggersTV after the match that it was an important win for his side:

“It’s a very important win because we are both down there and I think our first half display was very good. It could have been a different affair second half if Dover had scored. They came back with a lot of spirit and had many chances but overall, I’m delighted to win again, especially as we scored two good goals,” he said.

New Signings, New Optimism

New signing Manny Onariase was once again in action on Tuesday night, having made his debut against Harrogate Town last Saturday and picking up the man of the match award.

The Rotherham central defender, who joined the Daggers last week on loan until January was again in fantastic form in Kent, as he and Ben Goodliffe were brave with their defensive duties. Both will be expecting to keep their places against The U’s.

Former Borehamwood forward, Angelo Balanta linked up well with Adeloye for the opening goal on Tuesday, and the pair seem to be growing in confidence as a pair.

However, the Daggers completed the signing of Conor Wilkinson on loan from Gillingham on Thursday afternoon, and the 23-year-old forward is available for the match in South London. With six strikers now on the books, Taylor has a real conundrum on his hands when deciding which of those will be in his 16-man squad on Saturday.

U’s Form and Game Details

The visitors are in inconsistent form going into this match, having drawn 1-1 with a struggling Chesterfield side on Tuesday evening. Former Brighton & Hove Albion striker Jonah Ayunga scored late on in the first half for The U’s, before a late equaliser from Martin Allen’s side meant that the points were shared at Gander Green Lane.

The game will kick off at 3pm on Saturday at Gander Green Lane, home of Sutton United.
