Disney Plus: Was It Worth The Wait?

The long-awaited arrival of Disney Plus has allowed me to binge watch my way back into the past. For £5.99 a month or a discounted £59.99 a year, you get access to five different channels: Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Stars Wars and National Geographic, which means 7.500 shows and 500 movies!

I have enjoyed swapping between Disney and Pixar, watching old Disney classics such as Peter Pan (1953) and Bambi (1942); and Pixar favourites such as Finding Nemo (2003) and The Incredibles (2004). The platform also allows you to catch up on those shows that we remember from the Disney Channel, including The Suite Life of Zack and Cody (2005 – 2008) and That’s So Raven (2003 – 2007). So, if you enjoy revisiting old memories like I do, then Disney Plus is the perfect place for you!

There is some newer content as well of course, including Disney remakes that were recently dropped including The Lion King and Aladdin (2019); and recent Pixar movies such as Onward (2020), which has become a new favourite of mine. But overall, if you’d rather see something you have never seen before, then Disney Plus may become a bit repetitive.

There are documentaries of offer too though, such as Disney’s Fairytale Weddings (2017). And if you’re more of a Marvel fan, then this is the best place to catch up on all the live action and animated versions of the comics including Spider Man.

So, if you ever feel like Netflix isn’t quite enough, then get yourself a Disney Plus membership while you have so much spare time! There is a 7-day free trial, and with a new or upgraded O2 contract, you get to enjoy Disney Plus for free for six whole months!
