Mo Farah once again reigned supreme in London as he retained his half marathon title on Sunday.

The Brit crossed the finish line by the Cutty Sark in Greenwich, with a time of just 61:15 to beat his training partner Bashir Abdi – with just a second separating the pair.

Possible Return

The win follows the 35-year-old’s comments hinting at a return to track for the World Champions in Doha this summer – with the 10,000m event in mind.

The six-time world champion had originally drawn the curtain on his track career in the summer of 2017, but Farah looks poised to return.

Speaking in post-race press conference, Farah revealed: “It all depends on the result in London (on 28 April). I miss the sort of atmosphere Laura Muir got. You get it at the London Marathon but I do miss the track. I do miss representing my country.”

Marathon Focus

“That’s just me. If things are going well and I’ve got a chance to win a medal, then I’d love to come back and run for my country, but my aim now is to concentrate on the marathon.”

Farah finished third in last year’s London Marathon but he still sees a future in other disciplines.

“But seeing the (10,000m) results, it hasn’t really changed and now part of me is thinking ‘Have I still got it?'”

What Next?

Next up for Farah is the London Marathon at the end of April where he will look to defeat world record holder and Olympic champion, Eliud Kipchoge.

Should the Brit win, it could spell a triumphant return to the track for one of Team GB’s legendary athletes.
